Pour nous, occidentaux, il s’opère un choc de cultures. Les personnes intéressées par le chamanisme, aujourd’hui, sont généralement de croyance monothéiste. Cette croyance est installée depuis de nombreux siècles et a créé plusieurs courants religieux. Ces religions ont eu beau jeu de combattre et de faire disparaître les vestiges de nos rituels ancestraux, dits païens. Actuellement nous ne retenons qu’une chose du chamanisme : la transe. Nous oublions la partie culturelle associée. Les personnes qui s’expriment sur la transe ont tendance à en fournir une version édulcorée, afin de s’adapter au plus grand nombre sans tenir compte des racines culturelles.
Pour les non initiés, le problème provient du manque de compréhension des nouveaux adeptes du « new age » actuel. Dans les sphères qui gravitent autour du « bien être », de l’évolution de l’Âme, de l’ésotérisme, etc…, la tendance est de tout mélanger, tout adapter, tout réinventer, à force de manipulation d’image et d’iconographie. L’attirance vers des drogues psychotropes est un souci majeur pour beaucoup de ces découvreurs de nouvelles sensations. La promulgation de la notion de « bien-être » fait miroiter, trop facilement, une santé exceptionnelle et des formes idylliques, l’idée étant de prolonger son temps de vie et un corps toujours jeune. Tout cela par orgueil ?
Mais soyez attentifs, tout est basé sur l’esthétique dans la communication visuelle. Nous pouvons, alors, nous demander : où est la spiritualité dans tout cela ? L’immortalité réside dans l’Âme, pas dans l’existence du corps !
